Paper Mill Playhouse Appoints Chase Law as Director of Development
Tom O’Connor Consulting Group (TOCG) is pleased to announce that Chase Law (she/her) has been appointed Director of Development by Paper Mill Playhouse (Mike Stotts, Executive Director; Mark S. Hoebee, Producing Artistic Director) in Millburn, New Jersey following our extensive national search led by Brenna Thomas, Search Consultant and Tom O’Connor, President.
Chase Law has more than 22 years of experience working in the non-profit arts and cultural sector. Prior to her time in Winston-Salem, she emerged as a leader in the arts and cultural sector in Charlotte, NC. There, Chase served as the VP of Development of Blumenthal Performing Arts for five years after leading philanthropy at Discovery Place, Inc. In addition, she served in a senior position at Charlotte’s Arts and Science Council, as Executive Director at Carolinas Concert Association, and as Development Director at Community School of the Arts, all based in Charlotte. She has helped raise more than $60 million for the arts across the state of North Carolina. Having dedicated her life to the arts, Chase remains honored to work toward keeping the arts alive for generations to come.
"When I heard about the opportunity at Paper Mill Playhouse, I knew it was the position for me.” says Chase Law. “To be a part of an organization with such a rich history, not only in the community it serves, but in the theatre world, feels like a dream come true. My passion is the arts, particularly theatre. I could not have asked for a more perfect fit and next step in my career. I am eager to work with Mike Stotts, Mark Hoebee, the Board of Trustees, and the entire staff. Together I know we will continue making an impact and will take Paper Mill into the future. I am honored to join the staff of such a prestigious organization."
“I am thrilled to have Chase Law joining the Paper Mill staff!” says Paper Mill Playhouse Executive Director, Mike Stotts. “Chase brings to Paper Mill significant leadership and fundraising experience in the performing and visual arts that will advance Paper Mill’s overall fundraising efforts and our Next Act Capital Campaign. From the moment we met Chase, we were taken with her vibrant and positive energy, her passion for musical theatre, and her creativity and strategic thinking. She is a forward-thinking leader, who will work well in partnership with Paper Mill’s Producing Artistic Director Mark Hoebee and me, our development team, senior leadership, and the Board of Trustees.”
“After meeting with a wide array of talented candidates who appreciated the history and tremendous success of Paper Mill Playhouse, it is wonderful to see Chase Law joining the team,” said TOCG Search Consultant Brenna Thomas. “Chase not only brings great energy, experience, and intelligence to the role, but she is deeply passionate about the power of the arts and has a firm understanding of the care needed to build a successful fundraising operation in 2024. She will be an excellent partner to Mike, Mark, the Board of Trustees and staff of Paper Mill.”
