Tom O’Connor Consulting Group (TOCG) is pleased to announce that Alorie Clark (she/her) has been appointed Executive Director of DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative following our extensive national search led by Edie Demas.
Alorie Clark joins the Collaborative following her most recent role as Arts Learning Coordinator at the DC Commission for the Arts and Humanities. Alorie brings a proven dedication to advancing equitable access to arts and humanities education as a critical component of every student’s K-12 education. Alorie’s experience spans many local organizations, including Step Afrika!, National Arts Strategies, and the Washington National Opera. Barbara Stauffer, Board Chair, shared “we conducted an extensive search and Alorie stood out in a field of extremely accomplished candidates. Her expertise in arts management, as well as her extensive experience with the local arts and education communities make her the ideal person to realize the full potential of the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative’s mission to provide DC students with equitable access to the arts. We are delighted to have found someone of Alorie’s caliber to lead the organization in the years ahead.”
“I have been connected to the DC Collaborative for years, and have always admired its work in advancing equitable access to arts and humanities education programming” said Alorie Clark. “I am thrilled to serve as the organization’s next leader, excited to engage with the DC arts community in a new capacity, and eager to refine and amplify the Collaborative’s value to its members and stakeholders.”
“In a highly competitive process, Alorie’s ability to ground her passion, vision, and drive in impeccable management skills and leadership experience across both government and cultural organizations, truly set her apart” notes Dr. Edie Demas, TOCG’s Vice President of Organizational Strategy who led the search. “I am grateful to the Search Committee for placing their trust in our team at this important juncture. I cannot wait to watch Alorie’s leadership in action as the Collaborative’s next chapter unfolds.”
