The Senior Director of Communications and Partnerships is a new role at Art21 aimed at expanding the reach of its visual arts programming and educational content as a component of its recent strategic plan. Jones will begin at Art21 on January 24.
Molaundo Jones joins Art21 following his most recent post as Multimedia Manager for Black Girl Ventures Foundation, where he produced marketing campaigns and content, as well as negotiated and activated corporate partnerships. He has concurrently served as Communications and Resources Manager for the New York City Arts in Education Roundtable. He has also held past roles with a variety of organizations including Fractured Atlas and Queens Council on the Arts, in addition to serving as a Program Director and Consultant to a wide array of others. An accomplished artist himself, Jones received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He will conduct his work for Art21 between New York City and Atlanta, Georgia.
“I am excited that Molaundo will join our team as the inaugural Senior Director of Communications and Partnerships at Art21,” said Tina Kukielski, Susan Sollins Executive Director and Chief Curator. “Molaundo is poised to build and expand upon the partnerships and communications strategies that have increased viewership of our content and film over the last two decades and accelerated during the pandemic. We’re thrilled to welcome him aboard.”
“As a long-time fan of Art21, I am honored to have been selected to serve in this role,” said Molaundo. “I’m excited to explore the many opportunities for telling the story of Art21 and expanding its brand awareness to new and untapped audiences. Art21’s thought-provoking and inspiring productions are needed now more than ever and I’m looking forward to doing my part in amplifying the voices and work of some of the greatest artists of our time.”
“We are extremely pleased to pair Molaundo with Art21, and are certain they will have a fruitful and dynamic partnership,” said Tom O’Connor, President of TOCG. “Art21’s compelling content provides extraordinary access to the process of contemporary artists, and plays such a pivotal role in the education of artists and art appreciators. It deserves to be experienced by the widest possible audience to cultivate a sense of belonging with the arts, and we know that Molaundo will be an excellent collaborator as they work to broaden that reach. We have so enjoyed our collaboration with this team, and believe so passionately in everything they stand for–it’s a joy to match them with someone who feels the same.”
