Kent is a collaborative strategist, arts administrator, executive coach, and marketer whose approach is informed by more than 20 years of experience in commercial and public good arts and technology companies and is rooted in a commitment to the artists and audiences we are meant to serve.
He provides executive coaching and consults on organizational strategy for commercial and non profit theatres and performing arts centers, and he serves on the faculty of The New School College of Performing Arts. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Marketing & Communications at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), where he oversaw a new strategy for audience growth post-pandemic while exceeding multi-year attendance and revenue targets. Prior to BAM, Kent served as Managing Director of Strategic Marketing and Program Administration at 92nd Street Y where he led organization-wide initiatives and programs focused on continuing and expanding the organization's rich legacy. At 92Y, Kent galvanized the talented customer care, creative and editorial, CRM, digital content creation and distribution, marketing strategy, enterprise systems and web teams to implement a patron-first approach, which resulted in significant growth in new audiences, deeper engagement from existing audiences, and meaningful cost reductions in the annual operating budget.
Prior to joining 92nd Street Y, Kent served as Managing Director and Director of Marketing and Sales for the North American arm of international ticketing distribution / technology company Seatem, the parent company of Keith Prowse, Globaltickets, ENTA and Ticketswitch. Kent received a B.A. from University of Houston, where he learned from some of theater’s top talent, including Edward Albee, Sidney Berger, and Sir Peter Hall.
